MCBA Artist Collective
MCBA provides critical studio access through its Artist Collective, comprised of dedicated artists working in papermaking, paper marbling, letterpress printing, screen printing, bookbinding, and related arts.
Artists must have sufficient training to work independently and safely in the studio areas they wish to utilize. Through this program, members have access to clean and well-maintained artist studios, rare equipment, exhibition opportunities, and participation in an eclectic community of fellow artists. Join us!
Membership Update
After careful consideration, we have made the decision to implement a modest increase in monthly dues, effective June 1, 2025. This is the first price adjustment we have made in a decade. While we have worked diligently to maintain affordable pricing, rising rent, material, and operating costs have made this change necessary. We deeply value all of our Collective community and remain dedicated to keeping studio access affordable.
The dues increases are as follows:$185 per month for a long term (6+ month) membership (previously $165 a month)
$215 for a short term (3-5 month) membership (previously $195 a month)
$125 for a recent graduate and BIPOC artist membership (previously $115 a month)
With the price increase we will now be including an MCBA membership with the Collective membership. This includes the benefits of a 10% discount on retail purchases in the Shop, 10% discount of workshops (without registration timeline restrictions), and exclusive notice of new workshops as soon as they go live.
Membership Benefits Include:
24/7 studio and equipment access at MCBA
On-site storage
The opportunity to participate in Art-Share sessions with MCBA staff and Artist Collective members
The opportunity to show work in the annual Artist Collective exhibition in MCBA’s Main Gallery
70/30 consignment-split on accepted work in The Shop at MCBA
50% discount on tuition for MCBA workshops (there are no discounts on materials fees) when registering three weeks or less in advance of a workshop’s start date.

Artist Collective Studio Fellowships
The Artist Collective Studio Fellowships (there are 5 available) offer studio access and membership in MCBA’s Artist Collective for 12 months in exchange for work in MCBA’s studios during Studio Labs, a weekly equipment rental opportunity for those with prior training. Studio Fellows are important ambassadors to MCBA’s artist community and play a key role in creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
