Making Books and Pop-Ups with Kids

Tuesday, August 19; 4:30–6:30pm CT

From preschoolers to high schoolers, kids are fascinated by the magical creations we can make with paper. This virtual workshop is for any adult who would like to build a repertoire of cards and books to teach the children in their lives, regardless of the setting—school, home, community center, or after-school program.

Create samples that can be adapted to all ages, including a double-sided one-sheet book, a medieval pocket book, a pop-up card, and a pocket accordion book. Techniques will be demonstrated and explained through imagery and storytelling. Participants will come away with samples, lots of ideas, patterns for future reference, and skills that can be applied to any paper-based project.

Level: Beginner. All skill levels are welcome.
Certificate: 2 hours, Category A or B

Pricing

$25/participant (10% discount for MCBA members).

MCBA is offering this discounted rate (about 50% off tuition) to all participants to make teaching book arts to youth more accessible to educators and caregivers.
