Tuesday, February 4; 6:30–9pm CT
Surprise your Valentine with an original tunnel book! Using book board, collaged images, and red and purple paper, create an inspiring book project that is perfect to share on February 14th.
In this virtual workshop, we’ll make heart-shaped panels supported by paper gussets, creating the illusion of depth and perspective. The panels expand to reveal illustrated and collaged images, viewable through heart-shaped windows (openings in the paper panels).
Level: Beginner; all skill levels welcome. Prior knowledge of paper grain and assembling book covers is helpful, but not necessary.
Certificate: 2.5 hours, Category D
Pricing
$62/participant (10% discount for MCBA members)
$31 for BIPOC/Financial scholarship participants (10% discount for MCBA members)
MCBA offers two scholarship types for workshops—Financial Hardship Scholarships and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Scholarships—to honor equity and increase access and artistic opportunities for those who have historically been underrepresented in the book arts. For individuals to whom these scholarships do not apply, register at the Adult rate and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make scholarships available.
