Screen Print Cards

Saturday, July 19; 1–4pm CT

Get familiar with MCBA’s screen printing studio and print your unique design on a set of cards!

Learn the basics of screen printing using hand-drawn artwork, cut-paper stencils, and darkroom techniques. Instruction will cover design, screen exposure, ink, and printing on paper. Cards may be a call for action, kind words for a loved one, or anything else you think up! Bring your sketches and ideas to the workshop. Each participant will come away with ten cards approximately 4.25 x 5.5 inches in size.

Level: Beginner. All skill levels are welcome.
Certificate: 3 hours, Category A or D

Accessibility note: This workshop takes place in MCBA’s lower level studios. Open Book’s elevator is temporarily unavailable July–August 2025 while the entire elevator system is replaced. Pricing

$70/participant (10% discount for MCBA members) + $10 materials fee

$35 for BIPOC/Financial scholarship participants (10% discount for MCBA members) + $10 materials fee

MCBA offers two scholarship types for workshops—Financial Hardship Scholarships and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Scholarships—to honor equity and increase access and artistic opportunities for those who have historically been underrepresented in the book arts. For individuals to whom these scholarships do not apply, register at the Adult rate and, if you are able, consider making a donation when registering to support MCBA’s efforts to make scholarships available.
