It's Ok to Be Sad Artist's Book by Maliha Ali & Illuminated Press

$35.00

“This illustrated poem is a reminder that feeling sad is not a crisis. In fact, it’s a universal experience that’s part of being alive, even if it doesn’t always feel that way.

In a world of quick fixes and easy answers, this book is an invitation to just be and, when possible, to wallow luxuriously. The drawings complementing the lines of poetry catalog the little joys and heartbreaks of living with sadness, showing the silliness that is still available to us when we are feeling down.

Sometimes, the best thing to do for someone who’s feeling this way is to be present with them—to accompany them— while the sadness takes its course. That’s what this book hopes to do for readers of all ages.

Printed in a combination of letterpress and digital printing. Hand-bound in the Drum Leaf book structure.” - Illuminated Press

Zine version available here.

9” x 6” x 0.5”

*Consignment item. Not eligible for 10% membership discount. All consignment purchases are final and non-refundable once shipped.

MCBA believes that access to the arts and art education should be available to all individuals. Our facilities are ADA accessible and we strive to make our programs enjoyable for all. We are happy to provide special accommodations upon request.

Thank you

MCBA's educational and artistic programming is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant and an Arts Education grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Additional support is provided by other private funders, MCBA members, and individuals like you.
