This whimsical trio of mechanical postcards features three different bird idioms and volvelle-based mechanisms that will help you solve the idiomatic riddles.
Quick! What’s a figure of speech that involves birds? (Take another look at the workshop title if you need a little help.) The third workshop in a series of bird-themed mechanical postcards features a canary, a pigeon, and blue jays. Build each using a simple set of hand tools and a kit of pre-cut pieces. This virtual workshop is especially friendly for beginners. Perfect for bird and word nerds!
Make sure you have PVA (or other strong craft glue), a bone folder, a pencil, and any other tools and materials you like to use.
Level: Beginner. All skill levels are welcome. One need not have participated in the first two workshops in this series to be successful.
Certificate: 1.5 hours, Category B or C
