Visual Journaling Inspired by Emily Dickinson’s Poetic Universe

Wednesdays: July 9, 16, 23, 30; 4:30–6:30pm CT

Immerse yourself in the poetic world of Emily Dickinson, one of literature’s most enigmatic and visionary voices, in this reflective and creative virtual workshop.

We’ll draw inspiration from Emily’s iconic themes—nature, solitude, mortality, time, and the inner self—through gentle writing prompts, poetic play, and visual journaling exercises.

Each session will include a mix of brief readings, storytelling, mindful observation, and mixed-media prompts to explore Dickinson’s world and your own. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or simply curious, this workshop offers a guided space to slow down, look closely, and rediscover the beauty in subtle details. This workshop invites you to blend words and visuals into your own expressive practice—one that honors Dickinson’s spirit of introspection, creativity, and wonder.

Bring your favorite journal or sketchbook and prepare to explore the possibilities of language and image.

Level: Beginner. All skill levels are welcome.
Certificate: 8 hours, Category D
