Mary Lee (she/her/hers) is a book artist who uses her studio name, Riverlark Studio, to identify her work. She believes that books and boxes, whether they are unique, useful or simply decorative, should be strong enough to invite handling and play. Everyone is generally curious about what is in a box or book and should feel comfortable with that. She is particularly interested in the way that artist books combine structure, visual art, and text to make something entirely original. She has earned an Advanced Certificate in Book Arts from MCBA and has studied with Julie Chen, Hedi Kyle, and Jody Williams, among others.
